Although adding a second pot increased the engine/gearbox weight by 15%, the maximum power and torque improved by 38% and 35%, respectively, at lower rpms. If your hull is made of timber, the significantly reduced vibration is also kinder to accumulated flab, as is the case with most four-cylinder diesels compared to their triple counterparts.
